It's been a while since I've had a chance to post something here. All of the horses are doing very well. Granite is 18 years young and still proves that with a good holistic approach to life, training can continue and the body can continue to improve. Thanks to Dr. Lance Cleveland (the chiropractor), Sharon Mouisett (the massage therapist), Dr. Ryan (the acupunturist) and Dr. Anne Karok (his attending physician since he was 6 months old), he is still a blast to ride and loving life.

New Louisiana is getting ready to foal in late April (her usual time). She's in foal to Riverman ISF and we can't wait to see the baby. Since it's an "E" year for Dutch babies, we are hoping for a filly so we can name her, "Elsie", after her grandmother America's nickname.

Wunschtraum II has been back at Didi Carpenter's Honeybrook Farm in Hockley, TX where he was born and raised. He's blossoming there and should be handily back on track by the spring. His gaits have matured along with his body and we're are amazed at how spectacular they are. His brother is a full time Amateur Owner jumper, so we had no idea this would be the result.

America II, Betty P. and Calzone are blossoming as well.

We're open to selling them, but it's nice to still have them around.

We get lots of emails about Lexi. Lexi is our mare who was the first-ever horse cured of "moon blindness" in North America thanks to LSU Equine. She's doing great. Enjoying her exercise and new found sight.

Honeybrook Farm and Calzone Sporthorse will host Jodie Kelly on May 3 & 4 at Honeybrook Farm.

Jodie Kelly Dressage, Inc operates a full service training facility at Southern Cross Equestrian Centre in Destin, FL. They specialize in the training and instruction of dressage performance horses and riders at all levels from Intro through Grand Prix. They also actively import quality young horses for sale from Europe.

The primary purpose of Jodie's trip is to view and ride the young horses at Honeybrook Farm. We want to invite you to watch her ride and meet her at a luncheon on May 3. If you like what you see and want to take a lesson with her during this trip, please contact Didi.

Calzone Sporthorse's Lady Davinsky (Devil's Bag x Stravinsky) broke her maiden on March 3, 2008 at Delta Downs. The Louisiana accredited thoroughbred was bred by Julie Calzone and Aaron Hebert.

Calzone Sporthorse is pleased to announce that U.S. America (Lars X New Louisiana by Rolls Royce) was sold to an amateur jumper rider in Jacksonsville, Florida. His full brother, Wunschtraum II, has returned to Honeybrook Farm in Hockley, Texas to begin his career as a dressage horse.

The Dutch Warmblood 12-year old mare, New Louisiana, was presented at a recent keuring at Honeybrook Farm. The mother of 3 geldings, 1 filly and 1 colt was branded and awarded Studbook status. New Louisiana is by Rolls Royce out of the Woermann mare, America.

U. S. America Wins Championship

U. S. America (aka Alto) earned another Championship with rider trainer, Lauren Schweppe at the Jacksonville Fall Show I (8/31/2007 - 9/2/2007) in Florida. The 6-year old Dutch Warmblood gelding breed and raised by Julie Calzone of Calzone Sporthorse has won several champion and reserve championships in the hunter ring since the first of the year. He is also shaping up to be a top equitation horse and packed several aspiring MacClay riders in a recent clinic with a top trainer.
